Designing a watch can take quite a while. Along that way as Rick deliberated over the design of the pilots watch, he approached his business partner one day and said most excitedly "You Didn't Tell Me Your Cousin Works At The Warbird Museum!".
"Sure, yeah. So?"
I found it! Rick said. It was on the dashboard of a P-40M. The eight day clock military specified A-11. Rick later combines the A-11 and A-13 US Military speficiations for dials on the dashboards of fighter pilots as base inspriation for the watch names after it's inspiration. That's the cool thing with watching Rick develop as a watch designer, when it's there, there it is.

Rick Bell doesn't do things gently. He creates the P-40M Pilot Watch and donates a portion of every one to the restoration of warbirds at Tri-State Warbird Museum.

The first P-40M was the hand winding, skeletonized metal reflective hands, black dial as shown above. The image above is the first version sold of the P-40M Pilot watch. Year 2018.

We quickly realized the hands were not visible enough and moved to the white hands. 2019
