Rick Bell & Mark Stegman first created Build Your Own Watch, providing watch fans the ability to assemble and case their own watch. Rick's video instruction is still available on YouTube, although Jordan would have a lot to say on the orginal videos. In 2018 Build Your Own Watch evolved into Cincinnati Watch Company with the Union Terminal Watch and P-40M Pilot watch. Finding a watchmaker was paramount.
Cincinnati has a plethora of horological wealth, Jordan Ficklin and the American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institue (AWCI) anchors that knowledge. Jordan was the Executive Director of AWCI and an instructor. We knew Jordan Ficklin of course and when he became available Cincinnati Watch Company found it's expert watchmaker. Hiring an American watchmaker for assembly of watches in the United States accomplishes a core stage component in our business of building community. If we're blessed to continue to grow our 5 year plan is to hire Cincinnatians to work under The Watchmaker, Jordan Ficklin.
Watches Designed & Assembled in Cincinnati, USA
Rick and Mark’s dream for Cincinnati Watch Company was to grow Build Your Own Watch into a brand that not only supported the community through watches but also participated in bringing watchmaking back to Cincinnati, creating jobs locally for American watchmakers.
In 2020 this dream was realized for Cincinnati Watch Company with the addition of Jordan Ficklin, as a new Co-Owner and permanent In-House Watchmaker.
Jordan is an accomplished certified Watchmaker, who not only obtained both his WOSTEP diploma and CW21, he spent the last 7 years training future watchmakers at the AWCI as the former Executive Director. Learn more about Jordan here.
Cincinnati Watch Company Has 3 Guiding Principles:
We Give Back
Cincinnati Watch Company is committed to giving back to the community. A portion of the sale of every watch we produce benefits valuable American non-profit institutions.
Cincinnati Watch Company sometimes spends years working on a single watch design; appearance, parts, quality of the construction, and ease of serviceability are all considered. We are not using “off the shelf” designs, each watch is a unique custom-developed timepiece. You'll find our watch designs, led by Rick Bell, to be historically American based.
Provide Quality - In House Assembly
Cincinnati Watch Company uses only Swiss or Japanese-made movements known for precision and reliability. Our watches are assembled, tested, and regulated by our expert In-House Watchmaker Jordan Ficklin, ensuring the watch you receive exceeds your expectations.
If in the event anything goes wrong with your watch Jordan is available to service and repair your watch returning it to you fast since we service watches right here in Cincinnati USA.
