In Person Interaction

The notion of "meeting under the clock" can be extended to emphasize the importance of in-person interactions in our increasingly digital world. These face-to-face meetings are crucial in fostering meaningful relationships, both in personal and professional settings. In the workplace, in-person interactions contribute significantly to employee happiness and overall well-being. When colleagues meet in person, they can engage in more nuanced and effective communication, picking up on body language, tone, and other non-verbal cues that are often lost in virtual settings. This deepens mutual understanding and trust, which are essential for collaboration and teamwork.

Your 5/3rd watch features a Swiss-made SW210-1 B hand-winding movement. The watch must be wound for it to run.

Winding Your Watch

With the crown in the pushed-in position (Closest to the case), turn the crown clockwise to wind.

It takes approximately 45-55 turns of the crown to fully wind the watch. When the crown reaches fully wound you will feel a point in which the crown no longer wants to turn, DO NOT WIND after this point is reached. Overwinding the crown can break the mainspring.

On a full wind your watch will run for 43-45 hrs. It is recommended to wind the watch up at least once a day to maintain best accuracy.

Time Setting

Pull the crown out and turn to set the hands to the desired time.

After setting the time, be sure to always push the crown back in close to the case in the winding position. This will ensure the watch maintains its 50 Meter water resistance rating.

 MAINTENANCE & CARE

This watch is safe for occasional contact with water and brief submersion. We do not recommend using this watch for water sports activities since the crown is not a thread down style crown.

This watch is mechanical and, as such, timekeeping can be disrupted by magnets; avoid placing the watch near strong magnets, such as a stereo speaker.

You can clean the watch by putting it under gently running water, and then wipe it dry with a microfiber cloth to prevent scratches in the finish. (Be sure the crown is pushed in before running any water on the watch)

Mechanical watches require service every 5-6 years. This involves stripping the movement down to its components, cleaning them, and adding lubrication. Fill out our repair form when your watch is in need of service.

Rich text

In the early days, timekeeping in our Communities was not standardized. Clocks on prominent buildings like churches, banks, factories, & train stations were the standard of time in their communities; the more trusted and revered the organization was that hosted the clock, often becoming the standard Time in an area.

In Cincinnati, Ohio, the clock on the original 5/3rd bank building played a crucial role in regulating the daily life in Cincinnati.

Locals “would say Meet me under the clock" as a meeting point and time for people meeting under the clock before going out on the town

It was more than just a timepiece; it symbolized the bank's trustworthiness and its central role in the Cincinnati community.
